About Brettjet Cody
While there are aspects of life that are universal, we all experience life as individuals. My approach to therapy is integrative which allows for effective, individualized treatment that synthesizes evidence based techniques that address unique concerns. Grounded in an interpersonal framework, I find cognitive-behavioral and narrative therapies useful because they both focus on the beliefs and stories one uses to make sense of their experience(s). Importantly, I consider the systems in which my clients exist. Caregivers, family members, co-workers, and school/work personnel all directly and/or indirectly impact the therapeutic process. It is then that I integrate my understanding of your relational patterns as well as environmental and systemic stressors into a framework. Using evidence based techniques, which allows for us to dismantle and disrupt maladaptive thoughts and behaviors that prevent you from becoming the person you aspire to be.
