About Patricia Hanson
My therapeutic style is straight-forward and direct. I see our relationship as a partnership in a collaborative process. You know you, I know psychology. We work together to figure out what you might address to improve your life. My focus is on your strengths, and I work to empower you to see things differently to feel better.
My style is eclectic. I incorporate multiple theories and models into our work together. I have completed training in Gestalt Psychotherapy and Attachment theory. I'm well-read, so I use other approaches in my work too, and like all counselors, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I spiritual approach when requested. I will incorporate nutrition and exercise into conversations as well when asked
I enjoy helping people with anxiety and depression. I understand addiction and how to support family members of a person with an addiction. I enjoy working with couples. I have completed the Gottman phase 1 training. I like working with children and teens. I have experience with schizophrenia, OCD, Selective Mutism, Hoarding, Bipolar, and chronic mental health diagnosis.
I'm skilled and knowledgeable about supporting seniors, the disabled, and children with special needs. I own a small business that supports this population, www.ikorofwpa.com. I understand caregiving and how hard it is to provide care can be. I know public programs for care, and I am considered an expert in care-related areas.
I attended Carlow University and earned a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling after working in sales and marketing after 25 years in business.
