How can love be so hard?!?
Aren't relationships and parenting supposed to be second nature? Yet the stress of navigating daily life challenges and personal relationships can be deceptively challenging! Like parenting, relationships don’t come with instructions.
For over 25 years, I have helped struggling individuals and couples identify what stops them from giving and receiving the love they want and the life success they desire. With a practical and direct therapy style, and an excellent sense of humor, I don't just listen. I also provide honest, realistic feedback that can be immediately put to use even if your loved ones don't change. If you've been the one exhausted from trying, or the one most hurt, It's natural, even logical to want others to do the changing. Yet focusing on what is within your control yields the greatest improvements. And if your partner has a similar willingness to improve, you have the best chance of a positive outcome. At therapy's end, you will have a toolkit that moves you through conflict more successfully and increases the likelihood of having the intimacy you desire.
"Our relationship is much better and stronger thanks to your guidance. We are more realistic about our expectations for marriage, more considerate of each other, and we just communicate more. We are literal and tangible people so managing the intangible and subtle stuff (aka the important stuff) was a challenge, but we are so much better equipped now. I still sometimes have to stop myself here and there or recall past events (and your guidance), but it is very seldom nowadays. We can talk through things without anticipating the other's position, and we can talk about topics we don't necessarily agree on. And, we do it naturally." February, 2018)
"Judith really listens, is empathetic, supportive and affirming. What stood out to me is that she has a direct style and an ability to get at core issues quickly. Judith really challenged me to not avoid issues or make excuses but she was never unkind or judgmental. " 2/11/2018
"Judith, we can't thank you enough for your genuine care for us as individuals and as a couple. Through our sessions with you, we learned a tremendous amount about ourselves and our relationship that set the stage for honesty and healing. 2/9/18"
