About Maxine Greenberg
I am a psychotherapist with over 40 years of clinical practice with individuals, couples, families. The focus of my practice is in helping people identify dysfunctional patterns which prevent them from living satisfying lives and gaining fulfillment in significant intimate and interpersonal relationships.
I believe that providing a safe, trusting environment is essential for the self-exploration and personal growth. Since there is no one treatment model that works for all people I believe that a psychotherapist must be skilled in a variety of theraputic and strategic approaches and interventions to be most successful in assisting people with their problems and concerns.
My special expertise is helping individuals, families, and couples. I have had much post greduate study in work with families and couples. In addition I have extensive experience in working with anxiety, depression, bi-polar disdorder, as well as parenting, step/blended families, divorce, grief and loss, addictions, and women's issues. In addition to my expertise in individual, marital, and family counseling, I also provide family of origin work, supervsion, and employment coaching
I have worked in a variety of social work settings in New York City and in Connecticut. I have also been an Adjunct Professor in Social Work at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield University, and Housatonic Community College. I recieved my MSW at Hunter College, CUNY, NYC. I have had post graduate clinical training in Family Systems at Tavistock Clinic, London, and at the Center for Family Learning, New Rochelle, N.Y. Ihave attended Adelphi University Social work school to work towards my Doctorate in Social work.
