About Joyce Parson
Hi, my name is Joyce Parson. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Indiana and a Licensed
Independent Social Worker in Ohio. I started my career initially doing administrative social work, I ran non-profit agencies. In 1997, I decided to start providing direct services to clients. First working with domestic violence offenders then expanding to a much broader population. Now I work with adolescents and adults experiencing
mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder. I also work with anxiety, ADHD, Life
Transitions and couples challenges. More recently I’ve been working with adolescents and adults with high functioning Autism/Aspergers.
On a personal level, I am married and have three adult sons and and four grandchildren. I love
spending time with family, but since they are spread across the country, I have found other
ways to occupy my leisure time. I crochet and love making baby clothes, I read mysteries and
thrillers, in addition to professional books. I like walks with my husband, a bike ride and good music.
I believe treatment methods should be specific to the client so I use a variety of treatment
modalities. Most often I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness. In our work together, we will define needs and treatment goals, then work toward helping you realize the things that are important to you. This is your life, let’s make it the best life it can be!
