Areas of focus
Liz’s practice focuses on anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship issues, couples, and major life transitions (family planning, career change, bereavement). As a former athlete, Liz can relate to striving for perfection and how this tendency often leads to anxiety, depression and fatigue. She works with adults and teenagers who find themselves in unfulfilling loops. Liz also takes a special interest in working with couples and other forms of dyadic relationships (parent/child, siblings, business partners).
Approach
Liz utilizes an integrative approach to therapy that includes relational, attachment informed, psychodynamic work. She also borrows techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy when appropriate.
At the heart of therapy, Liz believes a meaningful connection between client and therapist is paramount to pave the way for open exploration and growth. Therapy is based on each client’s unique goals and needs. A client’s history, experiences, and relationships may be explored as they relate to present-day-functioning. Duration of therapy varies for each client and will be openly discussed as therapy progresses.
